I aim to provide you with the information you need to feel confident and informed about your care. If you don't find the answer you're looking for, please don't hesitate to contact me directly.

What are the eligibility criteria for joining the waitlist?
Dr. Barnes will be accepting patients within the boundaries of Hastings County who are not currently rostered with a provider.

Dr. Barnes will roster patients from the waitlist here. As there is room for rostering, patients will be contacted via email in a first come, first serve manner for those who meet eligibility criteria. There will be a specified, limited amount of time to respond to the invitation for rostering. Please ensure that you list an email address you use regularly and check your spam/junk folders. Alternatively, you can use the confirmation email to set your settings to “trusted sender”.

You should receive a confirmation email shortly after submitting the waitlist form. The location of your primary residence and status as an unattached, OHIP eligible resident will be confirmed.
Unfortunately, there is no way to predict how long the wait time will be. This depends on the complexity of each patient rostered and the number of people on the waiting list, among other factors.
Dr. Barnes is building a roster based on the waitlist available here at this time.
Email communication is essential for efficient patient care and practice management. While we understand some patients may be hesitant to adopt new technologies, it’s important to recognize that refusing to do so significantly increases our administrative workload, and contributes to limitations on care availability for other patients. Traditional methods like phone calls and mail require more time and resources, which impacts our ability to serve everyone effectively. Internet access is now widely available and affordable through various data plans that provide adequate coverage in our practice area. Additionally, many public libraries offer free internet access. By embracing these communication methods, you help us provide timely care to our patient population. If you have concerns or need assistance, please contact our office directly, and we’ll be happy to discuss alternatives or provide guidance on getting connected.

We take your privacy seriously and have implemented measures to protect your information in compliance with PHIPA (Personal Health Information Protection Act). All data is stored securely within Canada, and we use industry-standard safeguards for email communications. While we strive for the highest level of security, no digital system is entirely risk-free. We encourage you to review our detailed Terms of Use and Privacy Policy on our website for a comprehensive understanding of how we handle and protect your information. If you have specific concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact our office directly.

Your information will be reviewed for eligibility as your name comes up for rostering. If you are not eligible or the deadline for response to the rostering invitation passes, you will be notified of removal from the waitlist.
